Most Original Act, representing the USA. FISM is the largest magic competition in the world, held once every three years and often called the Olympics of Magic. Countries select a handful of magicians through national qualifiers, and Michael was one of only a few chosen to represent the United States. Most Original Act is the prize awarded for the act judged to be the most creative and uniquely entertaining on the world stage.
Awarded at the 4F Convention, the most exclusive close-up magic gathering in the world. The convention is invite-only, capped at a small group of working professionals, and the Masters of Magic degree is granted by the convention's organizers as a mark of standing within the craft.
The top audience honor at the joint convention of the Society of American Magicians and FISM North America, where the continent's best magicians compete for a spot at the FISM World Championship of Magic. Against that field, Michael's act was the people's choice. The following year he represented the United States in Turin.
