A corporate event is an opportunity to step away from the usual workday and enjoy something different. Whether it's a holiday party, a team-building activity, or a company celebration, the goal is often to give employees and guests a chance to relax, have fun, and connect with one another outside their normal work environment.
That's exactly what Michael specializes in. Close-up magic breaks the ice, gets conversations flowing, and brings co-workers together who might not otherwise interact. A live magic show gives everyone a shared experience, something exciting to enjoy as a group, and plenty to talk about afterward.
Whether the goal is to reward employees, entertain clients, celebrate a milestone, or just give everyone a chance to have fun, Michael's performance helps make it memorable.
What Does Magic at a Corporate Event Look Like?
A show for the whole group
One popular option for corporate events is a live magic show, where Michael performs for the entire group at once. This could be a small team of 15 gathered in a private dining room, or a large group of hundreds at a holiday party. The show blends magic, mentalism, comedy, and audience participation, creating an interactive experience everyone can enjoy.
The Stand-Up Show runs about fifty minutes, with twenty-minute and thirty-minute versions for a shorter spot in the program. Coworkers join Michael at the front of the room, and there is plenty of conversation and comedy throughout. It can be a break in a managers' meeting, entertainment for a team lunch, or the shared highlight after dinner and awards.
Close-up magic while guests mingle
At a reception or networking event, Michael walks around performing close-up magic for small groups. As people arrive, catch up, and meet coworkers from other departments, he joins them for a few minutes of magic and conversation.

Often, before he can even get to the next group, other people notice what is going on and come over to see, and pretty soon there is a little crowd around him.
Close-up magic works on its own for an event built around mingling. It also fits into a company picnic or family day, with Michael moving between groups as guests come and go.
A combination of the two

Michael does both at a lot of corporate events. During the cocktail hour, he walks around performing for guests and getting everybody excited. By the time the show starts, he is already a familiar face.
For a company holiday party or banquet, that often means close-up magic as guests arrive, time for everyone to enjoy dinner and the awards, and then the show for the whole room. The night carries on afterward with whatever comes next, like a DJ and dancing.
With a larger group, combining the two gives guests both the small-group experience and a performance they can enjoy together. If most of the event is a reception, a twenty-minute or thirty-minute show can bring everybody together at the end.
"I had the absolute pleasure of watching Michael perform. ... From the cocktail hour to the show I was hooked and well as all my co workers."
"Michael went above and beyond during our appreciation event on Christmas. ... He was approachable and easy to work with. He will be contacted for our activities in the future."
"Michael performed at a volunteer appreciation event where he amazed the crowd with his magical card skills. ... His sense of humor and rapport with the audience left people wanting more."

Company holiday parties
December is the busiest month of the year for Michael. He is working nearly every day, because that is when everybody is having their holiday party. Christmas is one of the most exciting times of the year, and the Christmas party is always the thing people look forward to, so they are ready to have some fun.

These parties are a little bit different from other events, because there is that Christmas theme and that end-of-the-year tone, and Michael plays off of that. He loves being able to cater to a theme, and he does that whenever he can or whenever it is requested. Casino nights are very popular, too, with blackjack dealers and casino tables, and magic fits right in with that kind of night.
Christmas parties start booking as early as late summer, so it is never too early to reach out. Some companies hold their holiday party in January, after the holidays, and Michael performs at those too.

How it fits your corporate event
On the call, Michael will ask if there is any point in the night when everybody stops for presentations or speeches. If you have a floor plan or a run of show, send it over. Before the event, he sends over his rider, with information on how to prepare. It comes with a short introduction for your host or emcee, so they will know exactly what to say.
On the day, Michael arrives early. For close-up magic, there is nothing for you to set up, just a spot for him to leave a small bag. The show gets set up off to the side, out of the way of the party, usually while people are eating. Everything is portable and easy to carry, and setup takes about half an hour. A stage is optional, and the front of the room works great.
Then it is time for the show. Once you have everybody gathered, seated, and facing the front, your host or emcee reads Michael’s introduction, and the show begins.
What you are paying for
When you hire Michael, you are hiring the experience and professionalism that go into helping you organize the event. That includes:
- Clean corporate comedy that is appropriate for all ages and all HR departments.
- A performer who reads the room and feels out whatever is needed for your group.
- Someone who works out the details with you or your planner: the timing around your speeches and awards, the room, the sound, and the introduction your emcee reads. Michael takes the entertainment off your mind so you can handle everything else.
- Liability insurance. If your venue asks for proof, Michael can send a certificate of insurance straight to them at a moment's notice.
Pricing is flexible. It depends on what Michael is doing, the guest count, the type of event, how long he performs, and the date. Michael's events can range anywhere from under $1,000 to $3,000 and up.

Questions about booking a magician for a corporate event
How much does a corporate magician cost?
Pricing is flexible. It depends on what Michael is doing, the guest count, the type of event, how long he performs, and the date. Michael's events can range anywhere from under $1,000 to $3,000 and up.
The form is the quickest way to an exact number.
What does a magician do at a corporate event?
A corporate magician entertains your guests during the event, with close-up magic for small groups, a show for everybody, or both. A lot of the time, Michael does close-up magic as guests arrive and the Stand-Up Show after dinner, around the speeches and awards. Some nights are close-up magic the whole time, and some are just the show.
Is the magic clean enough for a work event?
Yes. Everything Michael does is clean and suitable for all audiences. There is a ton of comedy, sarcastic and tongue-in-cheek, the kind magicians like to call corporate comedy. If you are booking Michael for a corporate event, you will not be getting a call from HR the next day.
Should we book close-up magic, the Stand-Up Show, or both?
For most company holiday parties, both. If people are mingling all night, like at a reception or a networking event, close-up magic is perfect on its own. If everybody is sitting down for a program, or it is a smaller group, the show on its own is a great fit. Michael is happy to walk you through some options on the call and see what fits your event best.
Will Michael perform during dinner?
Michael steps back while everyone eats. He performs close-up magic while guests arrive and mingle. Dinner is a time to eat and talk with everybody at your table, and the show starts as the meal wraps up.
How far in advance should we book a magician for a company holiday party?
As soon as you know the date. Most of Michael's events book two to three months ahead, and companies often start reaching out about holiday parties in late summer or early fall. In December, the weekends fill up first, especially the first weekend of the month, which is Michael's busiest weekend of the whole year. Weeknights are a little bit easier to get. Your date is locked in once the performance agreement is signed and the invoice is paid.
Can Michael work around our speeches, awards, and announcements?
Yes. If there is a quick announcement during the cocktail hour, the close-up magic pauses and picks right back up afterward. The show usually comes after the awards, and if the program runs long, the twenty-minute and thirty-minute versions of the show fit the time you have left.
Can Michael give our CEO or a guest of honor special attention?
Yes. Point out the person and give Michael their name ahead of time, and he will include them in the show and make them feel special. He has done this for CEOs, for big fans of magic, and for the skeptic everybody wants to see brought up. During the cocktail hour, just point him in their direction.
I need to get this approved by my boss or a committee. What can Michael send?
A written proposal on one link you can forward. After the call, Michael sends a page with a recap of your event, the performance styles, video, photos, and reviews, so it is easy to share. If other people are part of the decision, he is happy to set up a follow-up call with them too.
We do not have the venue, headcount, or schedule yet. Is it too early to reach out?
No. If you do not know all the details yet, that is okay. Give Michael your best guess, and a ballpark guest count is plenty to get started. He is happy to talk with you at whatever stage of the planning you are in.
Does Michael need a stage, a microphone, or anything else from the venue?
A stage is optional. For the show, the front of the room works with everybody seated facing Michael, and once the audience gets to around three hundred, a slightly raised platform helps. Close-up magic needs only a spot to leave a small bag. In larger rooms, Michael plugs into the venue's or the DJ's sound system for the show, and he prefers a headset or lapel mic.
How many guests can Michael perform for?
Any number. Close-up magic works for a cocktail hour of a couple hundred guests as Michael goes from group to group. The Stand-Up Show works for anything from a small team in an office to a few hundred people in a ballroom.
Our team is on the quieter side. Will they enjoy it?
Yes. Michael has done a few events for engineering firms, and those quieter, more technical groups really love the magic. There ends up being plenty of fun back and forth, and it breaks the ice for a group that takes a little while to open up.
Can Michael come to a team lunch or an office event?
Yes. Michael performs at team lunches, as a fun break in a managers' meeting, and at office events that are just about having some fun, for teams of fifteen or twenty and up. At a restaurant, a private room works a lot better than the main dining room.
Does Michael carry liability insurance?
Yes. Michael carries liability insurance, and if your venue needs a certificate of insurance, he sends it to them directly, so there is nothing for you to chase down.
